Thoughtful Giving + Uncommon Goods

"Happiness doesn't result from what we get, but from what we give." - Ben Carson
The season of giving is upon us and finding that perfect gift for someone is truly a happiness inducer. This year I decided that I want to give with thought. A thought to where the item came from, a thought to who made it and a thought to who it supports. As a business owner myself, I know what a difference it makes to support fellow entrepreneurs, creatives and makers and to value the unique, handmade and made in the USA items.

In my online search for thoughtful gifts, I discovered Uncommon Goods and was pleasantly surprised by this B Corp company who are using business as a force for good, socially and environmentally. Each item they sell has a story. A story about the artist, their inspiration and where it comes from. Most products are made in the USA and their aim is to support and promote creative individuals in the US with an emphasis on up-cycled and reclaimed items. From babies to grandparents, there are gifts for each member of your family this holiday season at Uncommon Goods.

I've rounded up some of my favorite items including a lovely modern glass teapot that would be perfect to steep my favorite loose leaf tea from Piper's Tea, a kit that has everything to knit your own plush throw, something that I've been wanting to learn to do and kits to make your own gin and tonic, my favorite cocktail. But I have to say that one of my favorite things is for my little girl, the personalized story poster. What story loving two year old wouldn't love to have her own childhood be celebrated on the front cover of a storybook? And there are so many unique and fun gift ideas for the little ones that I could do a whole separate post about but in the meantime check them all out here. Happy thoughtful giving and wishing you all a very happy thanksgiving!
